§ Honest Comparison · Updated May 2026

PeptideApprove vs Stripe

Stripe stopped onboarding peptide merchants in 2025 after Mastercard's BRAM update made the category uneconomic for generalist processors. If your brand was terminated or declined by Stripe, this is the compliant alternative.

§ Verdict

For compliant peptide brands, Stripe is no longer a viable processor in the United States. PeptideApprove is a peptide-only readiness service that helps merchants identify risk flags, prepare documentation, and route applications through category-aware payment partners — including merchants on MATCH or previously terminated by Stripe. Approval is subject to sponsor-bank and program review.

The honest assessment

Where each one actually wins.

PeptideApprove wins on:

  • Actually onboards peptides. The most important difference. Stripe has not onboarded compliant peptide merchants since mid-2025, and existing accounts have been actively reviewed and closed.
  • Built around BRAM. Mastercard's GLB 11691.1 update is the same regulation that drove Stripe out. Our entire underwriting screen is built around it.
  • MATCH recovery path. Stripe terminations frequently result in MATCH listings. We onboard those merchants with documentation. Stripe does not.
  • Backup acquirer. The single largest operational risk for any peptide brand is a sudden termination. Our backup MID architecture is the structural fix Stripe never offered.

Stripe wins on:

  • Brand recognition. Stripe's reputation as the gold-standard processor is real — for the categories Stripe still serves. Peptides is not among them in 2026.
  • Developer-first APIs. If you're comparing Stripe across categories generally, the API integration experience is excellent. For peptide merchants specifically, it's not applicable.
  • Cross-category coverage. If your business sells peptides plus other non-restricted categories, you may want both: Stripe for non-peptide product lines, PeptideApprove for the peptide MID. We do not compete with Stripe on non-restricted volume.

Decision guide

Which one should you actually pick?

If Stripe terminated your account in the past 12 months

Get a quote. We onboard Stripe-terminated peptide merchants with documentation of the termination cause and a LegitScript path. Most merchants are processing again inside 14 days.

If Stripe declined your application

Get a quote. Stripe declines peptide applications categorically in 2026. We accept them.

If your business sells both peptides and non-peptide products

Use both. Stripe for non-peptide volume; PeptideApprove for the peptide MID. We do not require exclusivity.

If you're a pre-revenue peptide brand

PeptideApprove. Start the LegitScript process and apply with us in parallel. We will issue a conditional approval pending certification.
