LegitScript

Peptide payment processing and LegitScript

Compliant research-use-only retailers do not need LegitScript to use these merchant services. That statement is limited to eligible RUO merchants. It is not a statement about every bank, and it is not a statement that clinical, pharmacy, telehealth, or patient-care businesses can skip healthcare credentials. Those models are reviewed on a separate path. LegitScript's own certification rules are explained in the glossary, not invented here.

What the program says

No LegitScript is required for compliant RUO retailers. The homepage, FAQ, and this page use that wording on purpose. Adding a research disclaimer to a healthcare business does not convert it into that RUO path.

What this page does not say

Read What is LegitScript? for the certification concept, and RUO for the labeling category.

  • It does not say LegitScript is irrelevant to pharmacies or telehealth.
  • It does not say every acquiring bank uses this same LegitScript rule.
  • It does not give legal advice about product claims.

Questions

RUO peptides

What does research-use-only mean for a peptide merchant?

Research-use-only (RUO) is a labeling category for materials sold for research rather than as consumer or patient products. Payment partners still review how the site describes those products.

The glossary page on RUO explains why human-use claims create underwriting problems. PeptideApprove does not provide legal or regulatory advice about how a merchant should label products.

Merchant accounts

What types of businesses may qualify?

Eligible RUO peptide ecommerce merchants and other high-risk profiles the program can underwrite may qualify. Qualification is not guaranteed.

Review looks at the legal entity, ownership, website claims, product mix, processing history, and the documents submitted with the application. Merchants that cannot be safely onboarded are declined.

Compliance

Do RUO peptide businesses need LegitScript?

No LegitScript is required for compliant research-use-only retailers using PeptideApprove's merchant services. Clinical, pharmacy, telehealth, and patient-care models may require healthcare compliance credentials and are reviewed on a separate path.

That is how these merchant services are offered with the acquiring bank PeptideApprove is partnered with. It is not a claim about every bank or network. Merchants are still responsible for their own legal compliance. PeptideApprove does not provide legal advice.

Does PeptideApprove give legal or medical advice?

No. PeptideApprove does not provide legal, medical, or tax advice. Merchants are responsible for lawful operations and accurate website claims.

Pages that discuss LegitScript, RUO, MATCH, or card programs describe merchant-services practice and point to primary sources when a rule is stated. Platform policies change and should be confirmed with the platform.
